Mantri-Parīkṣā — Testing Ministers, Securing Counsel, and Ethical Criteria for Advisers (अध्याय ८४)

अर्थमानार्घ्यसत्कारैभोगिरुच्चावचै: प्रियान्‌

arthamānārghyasatkārair bhogair uccāvacaiḥ priyān

ويبيّن بهيشما أنّ المرء ينبغي أن يستميل ذوي القربى ويُبقيهم على حسن المودّة بإعطائهم مالًا على قدر الاستحقاق، وهدايا مقرونة بالإجلال والتكريم، وبتهيئة ألوانٍ من الراحة والمتاع—رفيعها ووضيعها بحسب منازلهم. وخلاصة الخُلُق هنا: إنّ الوئام الاجتماعي والولاء يُصانان بسخاءٍ في أوانه، وضيافةٍ على وجهها، ومعاملةٍ رفيقةٍ مُراعية، لا بالإهمال ولا بالقسوة.
