अपन करा बछ। अं अष्टमो> ध्याय: अर्जुनका युधिष्ठिरके मतका निराकरण करते हुए उन्े धनकी महत्ता बताना और राजधर्मके पालनके जोर देते हुए यज्ञानुष्ठानके लिये प्रेरित करना वैशम्पायन उवाच अथार्जुन उवाचेदमधिक्षिप्त इवाक्षमी । अभिनीततरं वाक्‍्यं दृढवादपराक्रम:

vaiśampāyana uvāca—athārjuna uvācedam adhikṣipta ivākṣamī | abhinītataram vākyam dṛḍhavāda-parākramaḥ ||

قال فايشَمبايانا: عندئذٍ تكلّم أرجونا، إذ لم يطق صبراً، كأنما وُجِّه إليه ازدراءٌ شخصي. ثابتاً في دعواه، رهيباً في بأسه، ألقى كلماته بحدّة متصاعدة تكاد تكون مسرحية—معلناً ردّاً قاسياً على رأي يودهيشثيرا، ومجدِّداً الإصرار على واجب الملك وعلى السعي المنضبط إلى الفعل القويم.
