Daṇḍanīti and the King as the Cause of Yuga-Order (दण्डनीतिः राजधर्मश्च युगकारणत्वम्)
वैदिकानि च कर्माणि भवन्ति विगुणान्युत । ऋतवो न सुखा: सर्वे भवन्त्यामयिनस्तथा,वैदिक कर्म विधिपूर्वक सम्पन्न न होनेके कारण गुणहीन हो जाते हैं। प्रायः सभी ऋतुएँ सुखरहित तथा रोग प्रदान करनेवाली हो जाती हैं
vaidikāni ca karmāṇi bhavanti viguṇāny uta | ṛtavo na sukhāḥ sarve bhavanty āmayinas tathā ||
قال بهيشما: إذا لم تُؤدَّ الطقوس الفيدية على الوجه المرسوم، فقدت فاعليتها وصارت ناقصة البركة. ونتيجةً لذلك لا تعود الفصول مُبهِجة؛ بل تغدو في الغالب كئيبة بلا سرور، وتتحول إلى منابع للداء.
