One should act fearlessly when the action is grounded in dharma and carried out with disciplined restraint (niyama). Ethical confidence arises from regulated conduct aligned with righteousness.
In Bhishma’s discourse, the gods and great sages counsel the ‘son of Vena,’ urging him to undertake a particular duty or course of action, assuring him that where dharma is properly established through rule and restraint, he should proceed without fear.
