The Prelude to Questioning Bhīṣma on the Bed of Arrows
ādheyaṁ tu mayā bhūyo yaśas tava mahādyute | tato me vipulā buddhis tvayi bhīṣma samarpitā ||

True renown (yaśas) is not mere praise but the public establishment of a life aligned with dharma; wisdom and authority are to be entrusted to a worthy elder so that righteous example is preserved and made effective in the world.
Vāyudeva addresses Bhīṣma, declaring an intention to further secure Bhīṣma’s great reputation and, to accomplish that, symbolically entrusts his own expansive intelligence to Bhīṣma—affirming Bhīṣma’s stature as a vessel of counsel and moral authority in the Śānti Parva discourse.
