Paraśurāma’s origins and the depletion/restoration of kṣatriya lineages
ते विवृद्धा महावीर्या: पृथिवीपतयो5भवन् | राजन्! परावसुकी बात सुनकर भृगुवंशी परशुरामने पुनः शस्त्र उठा लिया। पहले उन्होंने जिन सैकड़ों क्षत्रियोंको छोड़ दिया था, वे ही बढ़कर महापराक्रमी भूपाल बन बैठे थे
te vivṛddhā mahāvīryāḥ pṛthivīpatayo 'bhavan | rājan!
قال فاسوديفا: «أيها الملك، إن أولئك الرجال لما ازدادوا قوةً وبأسًا صاروا سادةً عظامًا للأرض». وفي سياق الكلام، المقصود أن الشر إذا عُفي عنه من غير تهذيبٍ أخلاقيٍّ وتحويلٍ باطنيّ، عاد بسلطانٍ أشد؛ فالكفّ بلا إصلاحٍ داخليّ قد يتيح للقوى العدوانية نفسها أن تنهض من جديد حكّامًا متغلبين.
वासुदेव उवाच
Power tends to consolidate: those who are allowed to survive and recover can grow into formidable rulers. Ethically, it warns that social harm is not resolved merely by temporary restraint; lasting stability requires dharmic governance and inner reform, otherwise the same forces may return stronger.
Vāsudeva addresses the king and states that “they” (a previously referenced group) increased in strength and became powerful kings. The line functions as a narrative observation about the rise of rulers from those who had earlier been spared or left unchecked.
