वासुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights the destructive momentum of vengeance: when retaliation becomes absolute (sarvaśaḥ), it erases entire lines and multiplies suffering. It invites reflection on dharma—especially the restraint required even when one has the power to punish.
Vāsudeva recounts Paraśurāma’s act of swiftly annihilating all the sons and grandsons of Kārtavīrya, portraying Paraśurāma as the foremost hero of the Bhṛgu clan and emphasizing the completeness and speed of the slaughter.
