Prāyaścitta-vidhāna: Tapas, Dāna, Vrata, and Proportional Expiation (प्रायश्चित्तविधानम्)

चिकित्सकस्य यच्चान्नमभोज्यं रक्षिणस्तथा । “जिसने यज्ञकी दीक्षा ली हो उसका अन्न अग्निषोमीय होमविशेषके पहले अग्राह्म है। कंजूस, यज्ञ बेचनेवाले, बढ़ई, चमार या मोची, व्यभिचारिणी स्त्री, धोबी, वैद्य तथा चौकीदारका अन्न भी खाने योग्य नहीं है

cikitsakasya yac cānnam abhojyaṃ rakṣiṇas tathā |

يبيّن فياسا أنه في سياق الدارما وطهارة السلوك، فإن طعام بعض الناس لا يصلح للأكل. وفي هذا الموضع يَعُدّ طعام الطبيب، وكذلك طعام الحارس/الناطور، مما ينبغي اجتنابه—وذلك ضمن توجيهٍ أخلاقيٍّ أوسع بشأن أنواع المعاشرة وسبل الكسب التي تُعَدّ مُضعِفةً للصفاء الروحي لمن يطلب حياةً منضبطةً قائمةً على القربان والاستقامة.
