अध्याय ३५१ — उञ्छवृत्ति-व्रतसिद्धेः मानुषस्य परमगतिः
Sūrya–Nāga Dialogue on the Perfected Gleaner-Ascetic
वेदानावर्तयन् साड्रान् भारतार्थाश्व सर्वश: । तमेकमनसं दान्तं युक्ता वयमुपास्महे
vedān āvartayan sāṅgān bhāratārthāṁś ca sarvaśaḥ | tam ekamanasaṁ dāntaṁ yuktā vayam upāsmahe ||
قال فايشَمبايانا: كان فياسا يتلو الفيدات ويكرر مدارستها مع علومها المتمّمة، ويبيّن على شتّى الوجوه معاني المهابهارتا، فيعلّمنا نحن التلاميذ. وكنا نحن، على الدوام يقظين منضبطين، نخدم ذلك المعلّم بلا انقطاع—موحَّد الهمّ، ضابط الحواس، ثابتًا على رياضة الزهد.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
True learning is portrayed as a disciplined tradition: mastery through repeated recitation and careful interpretation, grounded in the student’s attentive service and the teacher’s self-control and single-pointed focus.
Vaiśampāyana recalls the period of study under Vyāsa: Vyāsa recites and teaches the Vedas (with their auxiliaries) and explains the Mahābhārata’s meanings, while the disciples remain vigilant and devoted in serving him.
