Nāgendra–Brāhmaṇa Saṃvāda: Praśna-vidhi and Dharmic Approach on the Gomatī Riverbank

जगतत्रिन्तयन्‌ सृष्टिं चित्रां बहुगुणोद्धवाम्‌ । तस्य चिन्तयत: सृष्टि महानात्मगुण: स्मृत:,उस समय वे नाना गुणोंसे उत्पन्न होनेवाली जगत्‌की अद्भुत सृष्टिके विषयमें विचार करने लगे। सृष्टिके विषयमें विचार करते हुए उन्हें अपने गुण महान्‌ (महत्तत्त्व) का स्मरण हो आया। उससे अहंकार प्रकट हुआ। वह अहंकार ही चार मुखोंवाले ब्रह्माजी हैं, जो सम्पूर्ण लोकोंके पितामह और भगवान्‌ हिरण्यगर्भके नामसे प्रसिद्ध हैं

jagat-triṇintayan sṛṣṭiṃ citrāṃ bahu-guṇodbhavām | tasya cintayataḥ sṛṣṭiḥ mahān-ātma-guṇaḥ smṛtaḥ ||

قال فايشَمبايانا: متأمّلًا في خلقِ العالم العجيب—المتنوّع الناشئ من خصالٍ كثيرة—تدبّر مسارَ التجلّي. وبينما هو يفكّر في الخلق، حضر إلى خاطره المبدأُ المسمّى «مَهَت» (العظيم، العقل الكوني)، فتهيّأت به أسبابُ الانبثاق التالي.

Educational Q&A

Creation is presented as an ordered unfolding: contemplation of the universe leads to the recollection/manifestation of Mahat (the cosmic intellect), a key Sāṅkhya principle from which subsequent evolutes proceed. The verse frames cosmology as intelligible and law-governed rather than random.
