Adhyāya 348: Nāga–Nīgabhāryā Saṃvāda on Anger, Hope, and Ethical Response
वे इस जगत्के आदिकारण, अमृतपद (मोक्षके आश्रय) सूक्ष्मस्वरूप, दूसरोंको शरण देनेवाले, अविचल और सनातन पद हैं। उदार शौनक! अपने मनको वशमें रखनेवाले सांख्ययोगी बुद्धिके द्वारा उन्हींका वरण करते हैं ।।
vaiśampāyana uvāca | te ’sya jagata ādi-kāraṇaṃ amṛta-padaṃ (mokṣāśrayaṃ) sūkṣma-svarūpaṃ anyeṣāṃ śaraṇa-pradaṃ acalaṃ ca sanātanaṃ padaṃ | udāra śaunaka! saṃyata-manaso sāṅkhya-yoginaḥ buddhyā eva teṣām eva varaṇaṃ kurvanti || iti śrīmahābhārate śānti-parvaṇi mokṣa-dharma-parvaṇi nārāyaṇīye ṣaṭ-catvāriṃśad-adhika-triśata-tamo ’dhyāyaḥ ||
قال فايشَمبايانا: «إنه العلّة الأولى لهذا العالم—المقامُ الذي لا يموت، وملجأُ الخلاص—لطيفُ الجوهر، مانحُ المأوى لغيره، ثابتٌ لا يتزعزع، وأزليٌّ بوصفه المسكنَ الأعلى. يا شاونَكا النبيل، إن يوغيّي السانكْهيا الذين قهروا أذهانهم لا يختارون سواه، بتمييز العقل وبصيرته.»
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Liberation is grounded in recognizing the Supreme as the primordial cause and eternal refuge; disciplined Sāṅkhya-yogins, mastering the mind, ‘choose’ that highest abode through discriminative intellect (buddhi), i.e., clear discernment of the Real over the transient.
Vaiśampāyana continues a doctrinal exposition within the Nārāyaṇīya section, addressing Śaunaka and describing the Supreme (Nārāyaṇa) as the subtle, eternal goal; he notes that mind-controlled Sāṅkhya-yogins approach and accept that Supreme through inner discernment.
