धृत्या शिक्षोदरं रक्षेत्‌ पाणिपादं च चक्षुषा । चक्षु:श्रोत्रे च मनसा मनो वाचं च विद्यया

dhṛtyā śikṣodaraṃ rakṣet pāṇipādaṃ ca cakṣuṣā | cakṣuḥśrotre ca manasā mano vācaṃ ca vidyayā ||

قال نارادا: «بالثبات ينبغي كبح البطن واندفاعات الشهوة إلى الطعام؛ وباليقظة ينبغي صون اليدين والقدمين عن الفعل الآثم. وبالعقل تُضبط العينان والأذنان؛ وبالمعرفة الحقّة يُهذَّب العقل والقول.»
