भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic conduct in the guru–śiṣya relationship: one should act only after receiving the teacher’s permission, and one should express gratitude and humility through respectful salutation and pradakṣiṇā—especially toward revered elders like Vyāsa.
After being granted leave by their truth-speaking guru, the disciples bow at his feet, then circumambulate and salute Vyāsa, and finally depart—marking a formal, respectful conclusion to their audience.
