Janaka–Sulabhā Dialogue on Mokṣa and Non-attachment
viśuddhadharmā śuddhena buddhena ca sa buddhimān | vimuktadharmā muktena sametya puruṣarṣabha ||

Liberation is achieved only through the previously stated discipline: purification of one’s nature and association with the pure and awakened. By meeting and aligning with the liberated, one becomes similar in disposition and moves toward freedom; this is presented as the firm conclusion of the learned.
Vasiṣṭha instructs his listener (addressed as ‘puruṣarṣabha’) within the Śānti Parva’s mokṣa-oriented discourse, emphasizing that the jīva’s transformation depends on purity and the company of the wise/liberated, not on any alternative route.
