Janaka–Sulabhā Dialogue on Mokṣa and Non-attachment
evam evāvagantavyaṃ nānātvaikatvam etayoḥ | etad dhi mokṣa ity uktaṃ avyaktajñānasaṃhitam ||
Liberation is described as the integrated understanding of both multiplicity (nānātva) and unity (ekatva), grounded in knowledge of the Unmanifest (avyakta). One sees the world of many without losing the underlying oneness.
Vasiṣṭha is instructing his listener in a śānti-parvan style discourse on liberation, clarifying a philosophical point: how to reconcile the experience of diversity with the truth of unity, and identifying this reconciled insight as mokṣa.
