नाधर्म: कारणापेक्षी कर्तारमभिमुज्चति । कर्ता खलु यथाकालं तत: समभिपद्यते,अधर्म फल प्रदानके अवसरकी प्रतीक्षा करनेवाला है, अतः: वह कर्ताका पीछा नहीं छोड़ता। समय आनेपर उस कर्ताको उस पापका फल अवश्य भोगना पड़ता है
nādharmo kāraṇāpekṣī kartāram abhimuñcati | kartā khalu yathākālaṃ tataḥ samabhipadyate ||
«الأدهرما لا يحتاج إلى مناسبةٍ عاجلة ليُثمر؛ فهو لا يترك فاعله. فإذا جاء أوانُه، لقي الفاعلُ نفسه عاقبةَ ذلك الإثم ولا بدّ أن يذوقها.»
पराशर उवाच
Adharma clings to its agent and yields its result inevitably; even if the consequence is delayed, time ripens the fruit of wrongdoing, and the doer must face it.
Parāśara is instructing the listener in Shānti Parva on ethical causality: wrongful acts are not nullified by delay or lack of immediate punishment; the moral result follows the perpetrator until the right time for fruition.
