A being firmly established in satya and dharma elevates others through contact; true spiritual power is not competitive but augmentative—tapas can increase in another when guided or touched by a higher, dharmic presence.
Bhishma describes Śaṅkara observing, through their association, the functioning of buddhi and noticing that his own ascetic potency, when brought into contact, caused an increase in Uśanā’s austerity as well.
