Adhyāya 283: Varṇa-vṛtti, Nyāya-ārjana, and the Decline-and-Restoration of Dharma (वर्णवृत्तिः न्यायार्जनं च)

दक्ष उवाच एतन्मखेशाय सुवर्णपात्रे हवि: समस्तं विधिमन्त्रपूतम्‌ | विष्णोर्नयाम्यप्रतिमस्य भागं प्रभुर्विभुश्नाहवनीय एष:,दक्षने कहा--महर्षे! देखो, विधिपूर्वक मन्त्रसे पवित्र की हुई यह सारी हवि सुवर्णके पात्रमें रखी हुई है। यह यज्ञेश्वर श्रीविष्णुकोी समर्पित है। भगवान्‌ विष्णुकी कहीं समता नहीं है। मैं उन्हींको हविष्यका यह भाग अर्पित करूँगा। ये भगवान्‌ विष्णु ही सर्वसमर्थ, व्यापक और यज्ञभाग अर्पित करनेके योग्य हैं

dakṣa uvāca etan makheśāya suvarṇapātre haviḥ samastaṃ vidhimantrapūtam | viṣṇor nayāmy apratimasya bhāgaṃ prabhur vibhuś cāhavanīya eṣaḥ ||

قال دكشا: «يا أيها الحكيم العظيم، انظر—ها هي الذبيحة كلّها في إناءٍ من ذهب، قد طُهِّرت بالنسك الصحيح وبالمانترا. والآن أحمل هذا النصيب إلى فيشنو، الربّ الذي لا نظير له. فإنّ هذا فيشنو هو السيّد الشامل لكلّ شيء، ولا يستحقّ نصيب القربان حقًّا سواه.»
