भीष्म उवाच एवमुकत्वा तु सा देवी तदा पशुपतिं पतिम् । तृष्णी भूताभवद् राजन् दहाुमानेन चेतसा,भीष्मजी कहते हैं--राजन्! अपने पति भगवान् पशुपतिसे ऐसा कहकर पार्वतीदेवी चुप हो गयीं, परंतु उनका हृदय शोकसे दग्ध हो रहा था
bhīṣma uvāca evam uktvā tu sā devī tadā paśupatiṁ patim | tṛṣṇī-bhūtābhavad rājan dahyamānena cetasā ||
قال بهيشما: «أيها الملك، لما قالت الإلهة (بارڤتي) ذلك لزوجها ربّ الكائنات پاشوپتي، سكتت. غير أنّ قلبها كان يُحرق في الداخل بنار الحزن».
