पितामह उवाच मृत्यो संकल्पिता मे त्वं प्रजासंहारहेतुना । गच्छ संहर सर्वस्त्विं प्रजा मा च विचारय,ब्रहद्माजीने कहा--मृत्यो! प्रजाके संहारके लिये ही मैंने संकल्पपूर्वक तुम्हारी सृष्टि की है। जाओ, सारी प्रजाका संहार करो। इसके लिये मनमें कोई विचार न करो
pitāmaha uvāca mṛtyo saṅkalpitā me tvaṃ prajāsaṃhārahetunā | gaccha saṃhara sarvāstv iṃ prajā mā ca vicāraya ||
قال الجدّ الأكبر: «يا موت، لقد أوجدتُك عن قصدٍ لغايةٍ واحدة: أن تكون سبب فناء المخلوقات. فاذهب—وأهلك جميع الكائنات. لا تتردّد ولا تتفكّر في الأمر.»
