राजधर्मः—राष्ट्ररक्षणं, दण्डनीतिः, हयग्रीवोपाख्यानम्
Royal Duty: Protection, Penal Policy, and the Hayagrīva Exemplum
कालेन शीघ्रा: प्रवहन्ति वाता: कालेन वृष्टिर्जलदानुपैति । कालेन पद्मोत्पलवज्जलं च कालेन पुष्यन्ति वनेषु वृक्षा:
kālena śīghrāḥ pravahanti vātāḥ kālena vṛṣṭir jaladānupaiti | kālena padmotpalavaj jalaṃ ca kālena puṣyanti vaneṣu vṛkṣāḥ ||
قال فياسا: «في أوانه تهبّ الرياح السريعة، وفي أوانه تأتي السحب الحاملة للمطر فتهطل. وفي أوانه تنبت اللوتس واللوتس الأزرق في المياه، وفي أوانه تقوى أشجار الغابات وتزدهر. وهكذا فإن نظام العالم محكوم بالزمن، وعلى الحكيم أن يوافق ذلك الإيقاع المرسوم لا أن تقوده العجلة أو اليأس.»
