इत्यब्रवीन्महाप्राज्ञो युधिष्ठिर स सेनजित् । परावरज्ञो लोकस्य धर्मवित् सुखदुःखवित्,युधिष्ठिर! लोकके भूत और भविष्य तथा सुख एवं दुःखको जाननेवाले धर्मवेत्ता महाज्ञानी सेनजितने ऐसा ही कहा है

قال فياسا: هكذا تكلّم سِناجِت، الحكيم العظيم واسع الفهم، مخاطبًا يودهيشثيرا. كان عارفًا بعلوّ حقائق العالم وسفله، بصيرًا بالدارما، مدركًا لسنن السعادة والحزن—فلذلك قال ليودهيشثيرا على هذا النحو.
व्यास उवाच
The verse frames Senajit as an authoritative teacher: one who understands dharma and the dynamics of happiness and suffering. The ethical emphasis is that guidance on right conduct should come from those who can discern deeper principles (parāvara) and who understand human experience (sukha–duḥkha).
Vyāsa narrates and transitions into (or concludes) a quotation: he tells Yudhiṣṭhira that Senajit—described as supremely wise and knowledgeable—spoke in this way. It functions as a narrative endorsement of Senajit’s counsel within the Shānti Parva’s instruction on dharma.
