संश्रुत्य यो न दित्सेत याचित्वा यश्च नेच्छति । उभावानृतिकावेतौ न मृषा कर्तुमहसि,जो पहले देनेकी प्रतिज्ञा करके फिर देना नहीं चाहता तथा जो याचना तो करता है, किंतु मिलनेपर उसे लेना नहीं चाहता, वे दोनों ही मिथ्यावादी होते हैं; अतः आप अपनी और मेरी भी बात मिथ्या न कीजिये

Transliteration

saṁśrutya yo na ditsed yācitvā yaś ca necchati | ubhāv ānṛtikāv etau na mṛṣā kartum arhasi ||

Translation

من وعد بالعطاء ثم لم يُعطِ، ومن سأل ثم إذا أُعطي أبى أن يقبل—كلاهما واقع في الكذب. فلا تجعل قولك ولا قولي باطلاً.
