Dana, Dharma, and the Four Āśramas
tasmin vāyv-ambu-saṅgharṣe dīpta-tejā mahā-balaḥ | prādurabhūd ūrdhva-śikhaḥ kṛtvā nistimiraṃ nabhaḥ ||
The verse presents a symbolic ethic: when opposing forces collide, a higher clarifying power can emerge—like fire arising from friction—dispelling darkness (ignorance, confusion) and restoring luminous order.
During a fierce conflict between wind and water, Agni manifests as a powerful, radiant being with upward-leaping flames, and his appearance removes the darkness from the sky.
