कपोत-लुब्धकसंवादः — Hunter’s Remorse and Renunciatory Resolve

आगतागमया बुद्धया वचनेन प्रशस्यते । अज्ञानाऊज्ञानहेतुत्वाद्‌ वचनं साधु मन्‍्यते

āgatāgamayā buddhyā vacanena praśasyate | ajñānāj jñāna-hetutvād vacanaṃ sādhu manyate ||

قال بهيشما: إن القول يُحمد إذا صدر عن عقلٍ قائم على ما توارثته التقاليد وما ثبت من التعليم المعتبر. ولأنه يصير سبباً لتحويل الجهل إلى معرفة، عُدَّ مثل هذا الكلام حسناً. فما أقرّته الفيدا والشاسترا، وصيغ ببرهانٍ وتعليل، هو الذي يرسّخ قيمة النص في قلوب الناس. أما آخرون فيجعلون المنطق المجرّد وحده أسمى وسيلة لمعرفة المجهول—وذلك محض سوء فهم.
