संस्तवैर्वा धनौधैर्वा नाहं शक््य: पुनस्त्वया । नह्ामित्रे वशं यान्ति प्राज्ञा निष्कारणं सखे
saṁstavair vā dhanaughair vā nāhaṁ śakyaḥ punas tvayā | nāham mitre vaśaṁ yānti prājñā niṣkāraṇaṁ sakhe ||
قال لوماشا: «لا بالمديح المزوَّق ولا بأكوام المال تستطيع أن تسترجعني. يا صديقي، لا أستطيع أن أعود مرة أخرى تحت سلطانك. إن الحكماء ذوي البصيرة لا يضعون أنفسهم، من غير سبب قاهر، في قبضة عدوّ.»
