आपद्-राजनीतिः (Āpad-rājanīti) — Policy Options in Multi-Front Crisis
एतद् दृष्टं मया राजंस्तथा च वचन श्रुतम् | आशामपनयस्वाशु तत: कृशतरीमिमाम्
etad dṛṣṭaṃ mayā rājan tathā ca vacanaṃ śrutam | āśām apanayasvāśu tataḥ kṛśatarīm imām ||
قال كṛśa: «أيها الملك، لقد رأيتُ هذا بعينيّ، وسمعتُ تلك المقالة بأذنيّ. فاطرح سريعًا هذا الرجاء—وهذا التعلّق المتصل بالغزال—الذي لا يزيد الجسد إلا هزالًا.»
कृश उवाच
Desire and clinging (āśā) weaken a person; one should promptly abandon such craving and practice self-restraint and detachment.
Kṛśa addresses a king, testifying that he has personally witnessed events and heard a sage’s words, and urges the king to give up a deer-related longing that is causing physical and inner depletion.
