पाण्डुभ्य: प्रार्थ्मानो5पि पित्र्यमंशं न दत्तवान् | “विदुर, द्रोणाचार्य, कृपाचार्य, भीष्म तथा सूंजयोंके बारंबार प्रार्थना करनेपर भी इसने पाण्डवोंको उनका पैतृक भाग नहीं दिया
pāṇḍubhyaḥ prārthyamāno 'pi pitryam aṁśaṁ na dattavān |
قال سنجيا: مع أنّه طُلِب إليه مرارًا وتكرارًا من أجل أبناء باندو، فإنه لم يمنحهم نصيبهم الموروث عن الآباء، وهو حقّهم. وفي ذلك إبرازٌ لفشلٍ أخلاقي: حبسُ ميراثٍ مشروع رغم النصح والالتماس—ظلمٌ دفع النزاع إلى أتون الحرب.
संजय उवाच
Withholding a rightful ancestral share despite repeated, well-meant counsel is adharma: it violates justice, kinship duty, and responsible kingship, and it becomes a moral cause that escalates social conflict into war.
Sañjaya recalls the earlier injustice at the root of the Kurukṣetra war: the Pāṇḍavas were repeatedly pleaded for, yet their paternal inheritance was not granted, highlighting the stubborn refusal that hardened the dispute.
