Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dāna and atithi-satkara (generous hospitality): a righteous person earns lasting honor not merely through power but through respectful support of the learned and the needy, fulfilling social and ethical obligations.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that Mādhava (Balarāma) leaves a place accompanied by brāhmaṇas, who praise him as he departs—implying he has just honored and satisfied them through gifts and hospitality.
