स्वागतं कुशल चास्मै पर्यपृच्छद् यथातथम् | उस समय राजा युधिष्ठिरने बलरामजीको हृदयसे लगाकर उनका स्वागत किया और यथोचितरूपसे उनका कुशल-समाचार पूछा
svāgataṁ kuśalaṁ cāsmāi paryapṛcchad yathātatham |
قال سانجيا: إن الملك يودهيشتِهيرا رحّب به، وعلى الوجه اللائق سأل عن عافيته—مُكرِمًا إيّاه بما يجب من الأدب والاهتمام، كما تقتضي الدارما تجاه شيخٍ مُوقَّر وضيفٍ كريم.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic conduct: one should receive an honored person with proper welcome and sincerely inquire about their welfare. Courtesy and concern are ethical duties, especially for a king and especially toward elders and revered guests.
Sañjaya reports that Yudhiṣṭhira receives Balarāma respectfully—welcoming him and asking after his well-being in an appropriate, formal manner.
