शस्त्राग्रेष्वभवज्ज्वाला नेत्राण्याहत्य वर्षती | शिर:स्वलीयन्त भृशं काकोलूकाश्व केतुषु

كانت تلوح على أطراف الأسلحة ألسنةُ لهبٍ، تبرق فتخطف الأبصار ثم تهوي إلى الأرض. وعلى رؤوس المقاتلين وبين الرايات أخذت الغربانُ والبومُ تختبئ مرارًا، كأنها نُذُرُ شؤمٍ تظلّل الميدان.
