सभा-पर्यवसान-प्रस्थानवचनम् | Counsel at the Point of Departure
भीष्म उवाच उक्तवानस्मि कल्याणि धर्मस्य परमा गति: । लोके न शक््यते ज्ञातुमपि विज्ञैर्महात्मभि:
bhīṣma uvāca: uktavān asmi kalyāṇi dharmasya paramā gatiḥ | loke na śakyate jñātum api vijñair mahātmabhiḥ ||
قال بهيشما: «يا سيدتي الكريمة، لقد قلتُ من قبل إن مسار الدارما بالغُ الدقّة والخفاء. وفي هذا العالم لا يمكن الإحاطة به تماماً—بل إن الحكماء وأصحاب النفوس العظيمة أنفسهم لا يدركونه على وجه اليقين.»
भीष्म उवाच
Dharma’s true course is subtle and difficult to pin down; one should approach moral judgment with humility, recognizing that even the wise may not grasp it completely.
Bhishma addresses a noble woman and reiterates a prior point: that discerning the precise workings and outcomes of dharma in worldly situations is extremely difficult, even for learned and virtuous people.
