युधिछिर उवाच
The verse highlights reciprocity and honor: when one is pleased by another’s conduct or merit, one responds with a fitting gift. Such exchanges strengthen alliances and reflect a dharmic ideal of generosity and recognition of worth.
Yudhiṣṭhira recounts that the Gandharva Citraratha, being pleased, gifted Arjuna (the bearer of the Gāṇḍīva) a set of distinguished, beautifully adorned horses with speckled/dappled markings.
