युधिछिर उवाच
This verse is a colophon rather than a doctrinal statement; its ethical force is indirect: it frames the Dyūta episode as a defined narrative unit centered on Yudhiṣṭhira and Śakuni, highlighting the tension between dharma-oriented kingship and manipulative deceit that drives the gambling catastrophe.
The text is marking closure: it announces that the fifty-ninth chapter of the Sabhā Parva—within the Dyūta section—has concluded, and that its subject matter is the dialogue between Yudhiṣṭhira and Śakuni.
