Educational Q&A

Righteous kingship is shown through orderly hospitality, sanctioned ritual, and generous distribution; such visible dharmic prosperity can provoke envy in those driven by pride, illustrating how inner disposition shapes one’s response to others’ merit.

Duryodhana is observing and reporting the activity at Yudhiṣṭhira’s sacrificial venue—provisions being dispensed, food being cooked and served, and Brahmins chanting auspicious puṇyāha recitations—highlighting the grandeur and legitimacy of Yudhiṣṭhira’s rite.
