भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights dharma expressed as responsiveness to rightful obligations—especially kinship duties—while remaining attentive to political developments. For rulers and leading figures, family ties and statecraft are not separate; acting promptly and appropriately sustains social order and alliances.
A report reaches Dvārakā. Upon hearing it, Balarāma and Kṛṣṇa, described as mighty Yādava heroes, travel to the Cedi kingdom’s capital to meet their paternal aunt, marking a movement of key characters toward an important political and familial encounter.
