Entry into Girivraja and Jarāsandha’s Protocol Inquiry
evaṁ bruvann eva muniḥ svakāryam iva cintayan | visarjayāmāsa nṛpaṁ bṛhadratham athārihan ||
The verse highlights duty and detachment in ethical instruction: a sage gives guidance and then withdraws, not clinging to outcomes. The king, once advised, must act with responsibility, showing that counsel supports dharma but does not replace personal accountability.
After speaking his message, the sage appears to turn inward, contemplating his own purpose, and formally takes leave of (dismisses) King Bṛhadratha, sending him on his way.
