Educational Q&A

The verse conveys that true sovereignty and public order are ideally aligned with cosmic order: the king’s assembly is depicted as so eminent that even the planetary powers—symbols of time, destiny, and regulation—stand as witnesses, implying that rule should be conducted with dignity, restraint, and responsibility.

Nārada is describing the extraordinary splendor of the sabhā (assembly hall), listing prominent grahas—Śukra, Bṛhaspati, Budha, Aṅgāraka, Śanaiścara, Rāhu, and Ketu—and stating that all the planets were present there, heightening the sense that the gathering is of cosmic significance.
