Greed (lobha) destroys discernment (viveka implied by cetas being ‘overpowered’), leading people into coordinated wrongdoing; moral failure is shown as both an inner collapse of judgment and an outward turn to harmful counsel.
After the preceding events, a group identified as the Ābhīras—described as sinful and ill-intentioned—assemble and begin to deliberate together, suggesting the start of a plot or collective action driven by greed.
