उत्पातदर्शनम् — Portents and Kāla among the Vṛṣṇis
तृणं च मुसलीभूतमपि तत्र व्यदृश्यत
tṛṇaṃ ca musalībhūtam api tatra vyadṛśyata
وهناك، شوهدت حتى شفراتُ العشب وقد تحوّلت إلى هراوات—نذيرَ شؤمٍ بأن المألوف صار أداةَ هلاك، كأن القدر نفسه قلبَ ما لا أذى فيه إلى ما يضرّ.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
When collective wrongdoing ripens, even neutral or harmless things can become causes of harm; the verse underscores the inevitability of karmic consequence and the ominous turning of the ordinary into instruments of destruction.
In the Mausala Parva’s account of the Yādavas’ end, the narrator reports a portent: grass in that place is seen as if transformed into clubs, foreshadowing the impending internecine slaughter with musalas.
