अध्याय ९ — कर्णस्य प्रहारः, योधयुग्मनियोजनम्, शैनेय-कैकेययोर्युद्धविन्यासः
तदिदं समनुप्राप्तं वचन दीर्घदर्शिन: । उनकी इस बातको न माननेके कारण अवश्य ही मेरा पुत्र शोक कर रहा है। दूरदर्शी भीष्मजीकी वह बात आज सफल होकर सामने आयी है
tad idaṃ samanupprāptaṃ vacanaṃ dīrghadarśinaḥ |
تأمّل دِهْرَتَرَاشْتْرَةُ أنَّ المشورة البعيدة النظر التي قيلت قديمًا قد تحقّقت الآن أمام عينيه. ولأن ابنه لم يقبل ذلك النصح، فهو اليوم لا محالة تلتهمه الأحزان؛ وقد صدق إنذار الحكيم بهيشما في واقع الحرب القاسي.
