sañjaya uvāca | śrutaṃ bhavadbhir yat prokte bhagavadbhyāṃ jagaddhitam | tat tathā nānyathā taddhi tiṣṭhadhvaṃ vigatajvarāḥ ||

Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes the certainty of a divine pronouncement made for the welfare of the world: what the supreme authorities have ordained will occur exactly as stated. The ethical implication is steadiness—one should relinquish anxious agitation and align oneself with the higher order (dharma/cosmic governance).

In the surrounding account, after Brahmā and Mahādeva speak, Indra summons all beings and conveys their command. Sanjaya reports the message: the beings have already heard the gods’ world-benefiting declaration, and they are instructed to remain calm and firm because it cannot be otherwise.
