रथज्यातलनिद्वदिर्बाणसिंहरवैस्तथा । तौ रथावभिधावन्तौ समालोक्य महीक्षिताम्
sañjaya uvāca | rathajyātalanidvair bāṇasiṃharavaistathā | tau rathāvabhidhāvantau samālokya mahīkṣitām |
قال سنجيا: وسط طنين أوتار القسيّ، ووقع القوس على الكفّ، وصفير السهام، وصيحات الحرب كزئير الأسد، اندفع المركبان اندفاعاً مستقيماً أحدهما نحو الآخر. فلما رأى الملوك المجتمعون هناك المركبين يقتحمان وجهاً لوجه—ورأوا رايتيهما متلاصقتين—أُخذوا بعظيم الدهشة. كانت راية كَرْنا تحمل شعار سلسلة الفيل، وعلى راية أرجونا المتوَّج جلس الفانارا المتجسِّد (هانومان) جلوساً مهيباً.
