athābravīd arjunaṃ bhīmasenaḥ svavīryam āsādya kurupravīra | saṃśaptakān pratiyotsyāmi saṅkhye sarvān ahaṃ yāhi dhanaṃjaya tvam ||
Steadfast performance of one’s duty in a collective cause: Bhīma voluntarily undertakes a perilous fight so that Arjuna can proceed with his larger objective. The verse highlights courage guided by responsibility, not mere aggression—strength placed in service of dharma and comradeship.
Bhīma addresses Arjuna and declares that he will personally engage all the Saṃśaptaka warriors in battle, relying on his own valor, and instructs Arjuna (Dhanaṃjaya) to move on—implying a tactical division of tasks amid the intense fighting.
