कर्णनिधनश्रवणम् — Hearing of Karṇa’s Fall and Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Lament
तथा राजन् महेष्वासो जलसंधो महाबल: । सुमहत् कदनं कृत्वा हत: सात्यकिना रणे,राजन! महाधनुर्धर महाबली जलसंध रणभूमिमें शत्रु-सेनाका महान् संहार करके अन्तमें सात्यकिके हाथसे मारे गये
tathā rājan maheṣvāso jalasaṃdho mahābalaḥ | sumahat kadanaṃ kṛtvā hataḥ sātyakinā raṇe ||
قال سانجيا: «وكذلك، أيها الملك، إن جالاسَمْدها (Jalasaṃdha)—الرامي العظيم ذو القوة الجبّارة—بعد أن أحدث مذبحةً هائلة في صفوف جيش العدو في ساحة القتال، قُتل أخيرًا في المبارزة على يد ساتياكي (Sātyaki).»
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores the battlefield reality that even the strongest warriors, after inflicting great destruction, meet their end—highlighting the impermanence of power and the grave moral weight of war.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the powerful archer Jalasaṃdha caused heavy carnage in the fighting but was ultimately killed by Sātyaki in battle.
