Adhyāya 41 — Kṛṣṇa’s Battlefield Briefing and the Renewal of the Great Engagement

ऊरुप्रभेदाच्च महान्‌ बभूव शरीरतो मे घनशोणितौघ: । गुरोर्भयाच्चापि न चेलिवानहं ततो विबुद्धों ददृशे स विप्र:,'जाँघमें घाव हो जानेके कारण मेरे शरीरसे गाढ़े रक्तका महान्‌ प्रवाह बह चला; परंतु गुरुके जागनेके भयसे मैं तनिक भी विचलित नहीं हुआ। तत्पश्चात्‌ जब गुरुजी जागे, तब उन्होंने यह सब कुछ देखा

Transliteration

ūruprabhedāc ca mahān babhūva śarīrato me ghanaśoṇitaughaḥ | guror bhayāc cāpi na celivān ahaṃ tato vibuddho dadṛśe sa vipraḥ ||

Translation

Because my thigh was pierced, a great, thick torrent of blood began to flow from my body. Yet, out of fear that my teacher might awaken, I did not stir even slightly. Then, when the teacher did wake, that brahmin saw what had happened.
