A warning against overconfidence in adharma-driven warfare: if a dharma-aligned, self-restrained power like Kṛṣṇa is forced into direct action, ordinary kings cannot withstand him. Ethical implication: provoking the righteous protector invites inevitable defeat.
Śalya, speaking to Karṇa’s side, cautions that in the battle no ruler among them can stand before Kṛṣṇa should he become enraged and take up weapons—highlighting Kṛṣṇa’s latent, decisive might and the peril of escalating the conflict.
