evaṁ prayāte deveśe lokānām abhayam-kare | tuṣṭam āsīj jagat sarvaṁ devatāś ca nara-uttama nara-śreṣṭha ||
The verse highlights the ethical and spiritual ideal of ‘abhaya’—the removal of fear. A righteous divine presence is portrayed as one that protects and reassures all beings; when such protection is affirmed, harmony and contentment arise in the world.
Bhīṣma narrates that after Mahādeva (Śiva), described as the giver of fearlessness to the worlds, departs, the entire world becomes satisfied and the gods rejoice—signaling that the divine intervention or assurance has successfully restored confidence and order.
