Karṇa’s Breach of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Battle-Line
divyaṃ ca varma vihitaṃ mahārhaṃ ratnabhūṣitam | abhedyaṃ virajaskaṃ vai kālacakrabahiṣkṛtam ||
The verse underscores the desire for invulnerability—symbolized by an unpierceable, time-transcending armor—yet implicitly reminds that ethical consequence and the larger order (kāla) cannot be fully escaped by material or even divine protections.
Duryodhana describes a specially fashioned divine armor: extremely precious, jewel-studded, spotless, and impenetrable, portrayed as beyond the reach of the wheel of Time—emphasizing extraordinary preparations and confidence amid the climactic warfare.
