Arjuna’s advance; deaths of Śrutāyudha and Sudakṣiṇa
sūpaṁ bhūyiṣṭham aśrīdhvaṁ nādya māsaṁ yathā purā |
The verse highlights how abundance and taste can become instruments of persuasion: the call to eat freely suggests the ethical need for restraint and awareness, since pleasure and hospitality may also function as subtle inducements that cloud judgment.
Narada reports or voices a scene in which attendants encourage people to eat generously, praising the exceptional tastiness of the soup as something not achieved for a month—creating an atmosphere of indulgent feasting and eager invitation.
